My Trip to Seattle!
7:52 p.m. - 2005-05-25

I have to say, I am so glad I went on this trip. Seattle is the most beautiful state I ever been in or seen (in my opinion). Hell, I never been on the West coast before in my life. So, this trip was meaningful to me than I think anyone can understand. To be released from this little town, work, and Florida is what I really needed to fill up with excitment about life again. To escape from everything to only end up at at place that can take your breath away with grogous views of mountains, skylines and hills. An the people there are so nice and polite. If you wanted the cross the street, traffic stops without the drivers getting pissed. They smile and wave you across even if the light is green. NO LIE! If you were to do that here, you would get runned over. I mean, no matter where you went, you need something or help to find a place, people go out of there way a bit and help you.

Let me go more into details....

From my last entry, right afterwards I took a shower and finally finished packing. Then I harrassed my travel partner, Ryan, online, saying "HURRY UP!! HURRY UP!!". Cause by this time I was excited and nervous all at once. Then alittle after 2:30 p.m. Ryan showed up and we all immediately basically left for Tampa International Airport. We (Mom, Ryan, "step-dad" and myself) talked and got a drink before Ryan I boarded to go into our connecting flight in Atlanta. An being you have to be at the gate basically 30 minutes till cause you have to go through all the check points (getting your bag checked, etc). We stopped at the Crown Plaza that Delta has for there special members who fly delta, to go to the bathroom and get free drinks. An from what I understand, you can get Skymiles with the card you use to pay for your tickets. Anyway, while we waited to get on our plane, Ryan and I rested up get our nerves in check and had a drink. Then being that we where less than 5 minutes away from our gate, when went down to get on the plane. Our flight to Atlanta was almost 2 hours. Then, we had a 45 minute layover at the airport. Which at this point I started taking pictures.

By the time we got to Alanta, it was almost 7:30 pm. I believe. We hung out a bit at the Crown Plaza again, until we have to board. This time it was almost scaring, cause we almost missed our flight to Seattle, cause by the time we got to the gate, they were calling, "last call for flight to Seattle". Oye! An this flight was longer, a little over 3 hours. I had the window seat. An being scared of heights, it was the wrong place to sit, but our plane was booked full, so I had no other place to go. So, I sucked it up and kept my mind busy. Ryan took out his laptop and we watched movies and listened to our cd players. Almost 3 hours later, we landed in Seattle at 10:40 P.M. and got greeted by my sister at bagges claim. From there she took us to her house. An the drive to her house we fun. An the night skyline was breath taking. Just gets you speechless. Plus, you got to see the Space Needle all lite up. It was just awesome. When we got to her place, we were greeted by my sister's boyfriend Sam. Nice guy. We all hung out for a bit and talked until it was time for bed.

The next day, Friday, we all got up (my sister, Ryan and myself) showered, had my sisters blueberry pancakes and then headed out to see Seattle. We took the bus, which is really common in Seattle cause in the city there is no parking cause its always packed full, plus it's so exspenive too (20 bucks an hour, if I understood right). An the bus is so safe and friendly. You pay a buck-fifty and if you ask for a tranfer, the pass you get is good for 4 whole hours. It's awesome. When we got off the bus, we had about 15 minute wait and being it started to rain (an Seattle's weather is really unpredictable cause the news will say it will by nice and sunny, and it rains. Even the forcasters don't know, it's because of the montains.) so we headed in for a place to have lunch called World's Wrap. Really really yummy!! Then we quickly ran to catch our bus. We went down town into the city, and walked everywhere and being that every street is basically hills you get a real work out. My sister wanted to show us the market. Where you can get fresh fish that they toss to you over the counter and the most beautiful flowers you'll ever see. An alot of them, don't grow here in the South. An here is where I went picutre crazy. All the colors and sights where outstanding. We ended up having dinner at a place called the 5 Spot where my sister's boyfriend works. Yummy food.

On Saturday, we got up kinda early and got ready. An we had to take the car to the docks to catch the furry to a little island called Bainbridge Island. A cute little place that has towns with the population no more than 7,000 people in it. My sister had plans to show us a cute little town and place for sight seeing and food, but we came on the day that they were having a festival and a car show, so we had to go else where. An getting out of that mess was funny. Cause my sister got lost. It worked out cause we ended up at the furthest most point (well almost the furthest most West you can go) you can go and we found a cute little Cafe for food and rest. The island is beautiful and on the way back to the furry we stopped off at a little park called, Salisbury Pt. City Park. There we took pictures together and had a few good laughs. About 30 minutes later we headed back to the furry and ride back to the city. We got home we stayed up and watched the Family Guy. An got Ryan hooked! lol

On Sunday, we took the car and saw a nice little market and afterwards my sister wanted to show us the troll under the bridge. So, we walked up this steep hill, took a left turn and boom, there is the huge troll done out of sand and cement. An under is left hand there was a REAL unused old car (a beetle to be correct). I took a picture of it cause it just looked cool. His one eye was the hubcap of the car. It was pretty neat. Then we had lunch at place runned by a Asian family. Real good food. Afterwards, we went for a walk (heading back to the car) stopping off at pet store to buy my sister's cat a toy. An once we maded to the car, we headed off to the Space Needle. You have to pass through alittle park area to get to the space needle which was fine, cause we took pictures by the fountain and got us some carmel corn. Yum. Now to get into the space needle, it was 13 bucks! Not bad at all. Ok, no being scared of heights, going up to the top was scary for me. I stood away from the windows and closed my eyes. Once we got to the top, I have to say it was beauitful. With the sun shining, you could see for miles and miles away. So, again Ryan and I went camera happy. Then once it got windy and cold, we got the hell out of there. Brr. An keep in mind, I never got to close to the edge. Heights is really not my thing. After we got off the space needle, I got some stuff to remember my visit. A t-shirt and a poster. We headed to the store after we left to get some food to grill out at my sisters place. I have to say, I really love the stores they have around there. They are small and friendly.

Then on Monday, we finished packing and around 11 a.m. headed to the airport. Frist, we stopped for breakfast at Noah's Bagel. Real yummy! Then we were dropped off at the airport. My sister would have stuck around but she had to be at work at 1 and it's a hour drive to work and our flight left at 12:50 p.m. SO, we said our good-byes and hugs. An our flight home wasn't so crowded so we relaxed and I took pictures from the window of the plane.

An here I am. With memeories to last a lifetime and with the itch to go back and hopefully longer. I really like Seattle. I truly hope that Ryan and I sometime soon take all the pictures we took and make a website. Sadly, I am sure that I left out the little details here and there, but I think you all get the idea of how my trip went. So, there you have it!

Now for the rest of my vacation, I am going boating with the parents and maybe shopping with Ryan this weekend. I have to say this is the most relaxing vacation I had in a very long time. No stress, just fun and rest. Anywho... I will update in a few days. Later
