The Diary

The Wedding Ahhh...what a pretty wedding. My memories of this event started on Tuesday afternoon when I met with Tina at work to pick her up and that is where I met the best man and the grooms man. After she got off, we all rushed out of Wal-mart to get this wedding thing rollin'. We said good-bye to the boys and then we were off to the reception all, started decortating for about an hour, then we left to go to the church for the rehersal. Now I have to say rehersal was fun. The pastor was really funny and made things really easy. Theresa, the one who did cake for the wedding also helped with the rehersal. An I tell you, Mandy (the brides maid) and I (maid of honor) got nervous. Only because that is when it hit us that people are going to be looking at us dead on. An trying to remember to walk, left foot frist then right foot, then left all the way to front, while smiling isn't as easy as it looks. We did it twice, with flower girls and all, then we girls went back to the hall and did more decorating. An we stayed there until past 1 a.m. getting the whole place jammed up. An it's there we us three made some good memories. Danced to music, goofed off and worked like busy bees. Then after we are all done, we headed to Wal-Mart for some make-up and booze so we can party!! (An I do have pictures of us setting up the all and at the hotel for the mini bachlorette party, I will post those later sometime) An let me tell you, Tina's nervous were at end, cause she couldn't sleep. She just kept smoking cigerette after cigerette, while drinking down some booze. To get all our minds off it, we danced around like idoits until we saw the time and knew we HAD to get some sleep, even if it's just 3 hours. Mandy fell asleep, and then was when Tina and I had a nice quiet conversation about everything and everything, even though she did not have much of a VOICE. She even was close to tears when we spoke of her mother who past away alittle over a year ago. I just hugged her. At 3:45 A.M, we went to bed and tried to sleep. At 7:30 A.M. our alarm went off and we slowly got ready. Now we tried to wait for someone to drop Tina's cloths off so she'll have a button down shirt for when we have our hair appointment so we don't have to left anything over our hair when we get it done. Of course, I teased Tina at how long she has left until she'll be Mrs. Tina Rachel. We all showered and got dressed before 8:30 and headed for the free hotel breakfast. With our nervous, we had to atleast try to eat something. Which wasn't much, all three of our nervous were getting worse. Then we checked out at 9 and we headed for our nail and hair appointment. Which started at 9:30 a.m and were right down the street. We got our nails down frist. Mandy and I got french manicure and Tina got those nails put on. Now being I was paying for it, mine and Mandys cost 5 bucks and Tina's was 22. Heh, but that was fine. Afterall, the guy doing our nails we funny and was flirting with Tina the whole time. It was funny. While we all were getting our nails done, the lady who would be doing our hair came in and asked if we were the braidal party and we all said, "YEP!". She said, when one of us are done, step by next door and she'll start the hair. Oohh, I loved my hair. We had our hair up with curls. Now Tina's had very beautiful hair. Half up and the rest all curls. WOWS! We made sure that she put a shitloads of hairspray in it, cause it was started to get really windy. The woman busted out two bottles of extra strong hold and sprayed all our hairs to death, lol. It was awesome. Then after we got done with all that, it was time to get our dresses. (I have pictures of us getting our nails done and hair, I am not in the pictures cause I am the one taking the picture, mawhaha) Now every wedding as to have a snag in it somewhere, right? When we got to the place, the woman was old and didn't know what hell she was doing. Now I had to finish paying the rest on mine and so did Mandy, then we are to just snag our dresses and run. Now the owner of the place, knows and loves us to death, and she paid for Tina's hoop that went under her dress, but the old lady said she needs to pay it. Now Tina had no money on her what so ever. Until one of then other ladies saw Tina real close to crying. Now at this point, I was getting pissed off, Mandy was comforting Tina. Then one who saw Tina in tears call the owner, and she said the owner is paying that for Tina and just to go with the dresses. Then we found out they never steamed Tinas dress!!! It was so wrinkled! That was when I said, "What the hell? It was suppose be steamed!!". I made damn sure they took the time out right there and steam that dress. I would only take 15 minutes. We were doing good on time and so we waited. After all was done and paid, we snagged our dresses and loaded up my car. Then we headed for the church to slowly start getting ready. An again, memories were made. (An yes, I got a picture of us getting ready too.) Now Mandy and I got ready frist, cause we were the easiest ones to get in our dresses. It was Tina that took forever and I had to help too, being the maid of honor and all. It took me about 15 minutes to lace up the back of her dress. But I did a damn good job!! heh. About this time it was 15 minutes to 3 when all three of us got finished. We just need to put on make-up and we were ready for the I DOs. Then we waited for the boys to get there and get ready, so when the photographer came, we can get some pictures in before it was time to walk down the isles. Oh I must say the guy was awesome, very funny. He made us laugh so we would all would smile in the photos. Now there is a picture of Tina and I that I really want. It's a best friend/maid of honor moment and we just hugged after the shot. An it was 4 PM, time for the I Dos. An oh God, were we all nervous!! Mandy was the one who was the most nervous, so she cried all the way to the front of the church. I on the other hand, did fine, but I was shaking like a leaf and smiled for the photographer. The ceremony lasted for about 15 minutes, then they were married. The whole wedding party and close family stayed behind while for more pictures, and the rest headed for the reception all to celebrate. The reception was fun. A lot of dancing, laughing, crying and more picture taking. What made it more special, Tina gave me another gift for being the maid of honor at the reception and it was a wine glass with the words, "Maid of Honor" and my name in graved in it. It was beautiful. What got me all choked up was when Tina took me to the side and said, "I love you girl and thank you so much for everything. You gave up a lot to help me out. An for that, I am forever in your debt." Oh the tears we shed after that and the long hug. Then around 10 the evening ended.. and the new Mr. and Mrs. Rachel went on their SHORT honeymoon. On a personal note: I learned alot about love that night and true friendships. I was so honored to be part of something so special and real, that besides making bonds, I made new friends. An the biggest thing for me was, Tina and Chris were happy, and that to me my friends made every cent I put in it worth it. I'll never forget March 24th 2004 for the rest of my life. Well, until I get married myself. Which oddly, I am the last one of my friends to even get married. Everyone is either married or about to get married. I don't even have a boyfriend. Sad, eh? Anyway, there you have it. If there is anything I missed, I will add it over the course of a few days. An yes, I promise...hell I swear I will post pictures. It will take some time cause there are a shitloads of photos. So be patient. :0) Later!! --Ally |
